We ordered our food for collection on a Sunday night and it only took 20 minutes. We could not complain in the slightest. The food was very hot and tasty. The portion sizes were very good and could feed of friends or family for a decent price. We will be ordering again
Overview
Walking into East Leake Pizza for the first time felt like one of those small-town food moments you remember for years. The shop sits right at 75a Main St, East Leake, Loughborough LE12 6PF, United Kingdom, and it blends into the village high street like it has always belonged there. On a busy Friday evening, locals drift in steadily, some grabbing a quick takeaway, others hanging around to chat while their order goes into the oven. That steady footfall tells you a lot before you even see the menu.
The menu itself keeps things refreshingly straightforward. You’ll find classic pizzas alongside a few house favourites, plus sides that actually feel thought-through instead of thrown in as an afterthought. I remember watching the dough being stretched by hand behind the counter, which lines up with what many independent diners now do to keep quality consistent. According to research published by the European Flour Millers Association, hand-stretched dough ferments more evenly, leading to better texture and flavour. That’s something you can taste here, especially in their thinner crust options.
One order that stands out from my visits is their pepperoni pizza, which uses a balance of mozzarella and tomato sauce that doesn’t overpower the base. A staff member once mentioned they stick to a simple sauce recipe made daily, rather than relying on pre-made alternatives. That approach mirrors guidance from the UK Food Standards Agency, which recommends fresh preparation where possible to maintain quality and food safety. It’s a small detail, but it shows a level of care that regulars definitely notice.
Reviews from locals back up that consistency. Scrolling through online feedback, the same phrases pop up again and again, especially bold praise like freshly made bases, quick service, and friendly staff. One long-time resident I spoke to said they’ve been ordering from this spot for years because the flavour never changes, even when the shop is busy. In the restaurant world, consistency is often harder than creativity, and that’s where this place quietly excels.
The process behind the scenes is surprisingly methodical for a small diner. Orders are timed so pizzas come out evenly cooked, even during peak hours. The ovens are kept at a steady temperature, which matters more than people realise. Studies from hospitality training bodies like City & Guilds highlight temperature control as one of the biggest factors in reducing food waste and improving customer satisfaction. You can see that discipline in action when several orders come out back-to-back, all looking identical.
Location plays its part too. Being right in the heart of East Leake makes it a convenient option for families, students, and anyone passing through Loughborough’s surrounding villages. Parking nearby is usually manageable, which helps for takeaway orders, and the shop’s visibility means you don’t need to hunt it down. That accessibility feeds into its popularity and the steady stream of repeat customers.
That said, it’s only fair to acknowledge limitations. Seating is minimal, so it’s not the place for a long sit-down meal with a big group. Peak times can also mean a short wait, especially on weekends. Still, staff are upfront about timings, which builds trust and keeps expectations realistic. Transparency like that is often mentioned in hospitality research as a key driver of positive reviews.
What really ties the experience together is the human element. Conversations flow easily, recommendations feel genuine, and you get the sense that feedback actually matters. In an industry where chains often dominate, this diner holds its own by focusing on flavour, process, and community rather than gimmicks. The result is a pizza spot that feels reliable, approachable, and rooted in its neighbourhood, which is exactly why so many people keep coming back.

I’ve ordered from here a few times and can’t fault it. The food is always spot on. Also - their delivery driver is the most loveliest guy! He always brings little chocolate bars for the kids and is probably the happiest person I’ve ever met!!
What can one say about this place? It is hands down the best kebab takeaway in this region. As a citizen of Kegworth i have limited choices. These guys beat anything that castle donington, kegworth, or west side of long eaton can produce (believe me i've tried them all), and is totally worth the 20 min round trip. The value for money is excellent. You get a fair amount of high quality meat, not full of fat, not overcooked. Perfectly grilled shish lamb. The rice has real texture to it, not some crappy dry rice. The salad is cut thick, with a good mix and tastes super fresh. You get the all important red cabbage which is missing from a lot of places. Proper turkish style sauces served seperately, which don't appear to have come out of a squeezy bottle. And a nice bit of pitta to finish. The pictures attached show a Large shish and doner mix tray, all for ÂŁ8.76 which is excellent value for the quality and quantity of food. The atmosphere is great, the place looks super clean and tidy, they are very busy but do their best to prioritise and serve the counter. This has now become my once a month treat and i look forward to it every time!
Great Pizza, spicey maxican, it was! Thank God, finally a place that deliver on that. Quick and kind service right away.
Very tasty Tender meat (both chicken shish and lamb shish). Pleased atmosphere. Very good salad + pots of sauces especially chilli - perfect! 1 Negative: PLEASE guys - ask customers which salads they would like in their meals ! It's very important to follow each person's preference in terms of salads / sauces. I wanted to give 4 stars based on this experience. However, due to food tastes, I still decided to gove 5 stars. Thank you
Best pizza in this area. You can recognize every pizza is different. Delivery guys are always polite. 100% recommendation
